The Pill may be packed with many benefits, but there’s an exception. Research has it that 18-year-olds who were on the Pill had lower bone density as compared to those who had never taken them. This puts those in birth-control pills at a higher risk of fractures, and ultimately, osteoporosis.
However, this does not imply you should ditch your Pill pack. Just make sure you have three servings of dairy per day, say an 8oz yogurt, a glass of milk, and half a cup of cottage cheese, or you can take 1000mg of calcium everyday through supplements. Weight-bearing exercises aren’t so bad, either.
